וַיְהִי הַמֶּלֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה, מֶלֶךְ עַל-כָּל-יִשְׂרָאֵל. {ס}

And king Solomon was king over all Yisrael.

וְאֵלֶּה הַשָּׂרִים, אֲשֶׁר-לוֹ: עֲזַרְיָהוּ בֶן-צָדוֹק, הַכֹּהֵן. {ס}

And these were the princes whom he had: Azariah the son of Zadok, the priest;

אֱלִיחֹרֶף וַאֲחִיָּה בְּנֵי שִׁישָׁא, סֹפְרִים; {ס} יְהוֹשָׁפָט בֶּן-אֲחִילוּד, הַמַּזְכִּיר. {ס}

Elihoreph and Ahijah, the sons of Shisha, scribes;

Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder;
{S}

וּבְנָיָהוּ בֶן-יְהוֹיָדָע, עַל-הַצָּבָא; {ס} וְצָדוֹק וְאֶבְיָתָר, כֹּהֲנִים. {ס}

and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host;
{S}
and Zadok and Abiathar were priests;
{S}
|

ה
וַעֲזַרְיָהוּ בֶן-נָתָן, עַל-הַנִּצָּבִים; {ס} וְזָבוּד בֶּן-נָתָן כֹּהֵן, רֵעֶה הַמֶּלֶךְ. {ס}

and Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers;

and Zabud the son of Nathan was chief minister and the king's friend;
{S}

ו
וַאֲחִישָׁר, עַל-הַבָּיִת; {ס} וַאֲדֹנִירָם בֶּן-עַבְדָּא, עַל-הַמַּס. {ס}

and Ahishar was over the household;
{S}
and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the levy.
{S}

וְלִשְׁלֹמֹה שְׁנֵים-עָשָׂר נִצָּבִים, עַל-כָּל-יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְכִלְכְּלוּ אֶת-הַמֶּלֶךְ, וְאֶת-בֵּיתוֹ: חֹדֶשׁ בַּשָּׁנָה יִהְיֶה עַל-אחד (הָאֶחָד), לְכַלְכֵּל. {ס}

And Solomon had twelve officers over all Yisrael, who provided victuals for the king and his household: each man had to make provision for a month in the year.

וְאֵלֶּה שְׁמוֹתָם, בֶּן-חוּר בְּהַר אֶפְרָיִם. {ס}

And these are their names: The son of Hur, in the hill-country of Ephraim;

בֶּן-דֶּקֶר בְּמָקַץ וּבְשַׁעַלְבִים, וּבֵית שָׁמֶשׁ; וְאֵילוֹן, בֵּית חָנָן. {ס}

the son of Deker, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Beth-shemesh, and Elon-beth-hanan;

בֶּן-חֶסֶד, בָּאֲרֻבּוֹת; לוֹ שֹׂכֹה, וְכָל-אֶרֶץ חֵפֶר. {ס}

the son of Hesed, in Arubboth; to him pertained Socoh, and all the land of Hepher;

בֶּן-אֲבִינָדָב, כָּל-נָפַת דֹּאר; טָפַת, בַּת-שְׁלֹמֹה, הָיְתָה לּוֹ, לְאִשָּׁה. {ס}

the son of Abinadab, in all the region of Dor; he had Taphath the daughter of Solomon to wife;

בַּעֲנָא, בֶּן-אֲחִילוּד, תַּעְנַךְ, וּמְגִדּוֹ; וְכָל-בֵּית שְׁאָן אֲשֶׁר אֵצֶל צָרְתַנָה מִתַּחַת לְיִזְרְעֶאל, מִבֵּית שְׁאָן עַד אָבֵל מְחוֹלָה, עַד, מֵעֵבֶר לְיָקְמְעָם. {ס}

Baana the son of Ahilud, in Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth-shean which is beside Zarethan, beneath Jezreel, from Beth-shean to Abel-meholah, as far as beyond Jokmeam;

בֶּן-גֶּבֶר, בְּרָמֹת גִּלְעָד; לוֹ חַוּת יָאִיר בֶּן-מְנַשֶּׁה אֲשֶׁר בַּגִּלְעָד, לוֹ חֶבֶל אַרְגֹּב אֲשֶׁר בַּבָּשָׁן--שִׁשִּׁים עָרִים גְּדֹלוֹת, חוֹמָה וּבְרִיחַ נְחֹשֶׁת. {ס}

the son of Geber, in Ramoth-gilead; to him pertained the villages of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; even to him pertained the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, threescore great cities with walls and brazen bars;

Ahinadab the son of Iddo, in Mahanaim;

אֲחִימַעַץ, בְּנַפְתָּלִי; גַּם-הוּא, לָקַח אֶת-בָּשְׂמַת בַּת-שְׁלֹמֹה--לְאִשָּׁה. {ס}

Ahimaaz, in Naphtali; he also took Basemath the daughter of Solomon to wife;

בַּעֲנָא, בֶּן-חוּשָׁי, בְּאָשֵׁר, וּבְעָלוֹת. {ס}
|

Baana the son of Hushai, in Asher and Bealoth;
{S}
|
|
יז
יְהוֹשָׁפָט בֶּן-פָּרוּחַ, בְּיִשָּׂשכָר. {ס}
|
17
Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar;
{S}
|
|
יח
שִׁמְעִי בֶן-אֵלָא, בְּבִנְיָמִן. {ס}
|
18
Shimei the son of Ela, in Benjamin;
{S}
|
|
יט
גֶּבֶר בֶּן-אֻרִי, בְּאֶרֶץ גִּלְעָד--אֶרֶץ סִיחוֹן מֶלֶךְ הָאֱמֹרִי, וְעֹג מֶלֶךְ הַבָּשָׁן, וּנְצִיב אֶחָד, אֲשֶׁר בָּאָרֶץ.

Geber the son of Uri, in the land of Gilead, the country of Sihon king of the Amorites and of Og king of Bashan; and one officer that was [over all the officers] in the land.

יְהוּדָה וְיִשְׂרָאֵל רַבִּים, כַּחוֹל אֲשֶׁר-עַל-הַיָּם לָרֹב, אֹכְלִים וְשֹׁתִים, וּשְׂמֵחִים.

Judah and Yisrael were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking and making merry.
